News Update - St Patrick's Week 2013 Well! What an incredible St. Patrick's week in Boston! I know we like to celebrate Paddy's Day in Ireland and give it all we've got, but I have to say that Boston just went for it all week. I don't think I've seen as much green anywhere! Every shop, restaurant, and business was waving every shade of green imaginable, not to mention what people were wearing.
I had some terrific honors throughout the week such as sining at a breakfast fundraiser for Steve Lynch who is running the US Senate. Nice to see early-riser business folk and politicians waving their hands in the air and sining The Fields of Athery at 8am on a Wednesday morning!
I also had the great honor of performing with Tara Novak at the Irish Network Boston Saint Patrick's Day party at the Moakley Court House on Friday. It was with great pride that I sang both the Irish and the American National Anthems. News Update - On tour with Druid - A Musical Journey
I am currently on tour in The Netherlands and Belgium with the show that I produced in 2006 called Druid - A Musical Journey. This is a themed concert which brings the audience through an historic and musical journey of Ireland. In it we cover a wide range of Irish musical styles from the ancient form of Mouth Music, to Irish folk songs, ballads, reels, pop and rock.
This will be our third tour in the Netherlands and our first time to perform in Belgium. Also to add to the excitement we have written new arrangements for the show which include an amazing Eruovision medley and an stirring medley of The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Boolavogue and The Parting Glass. And many more really excellent songs. Also included in the program is a song written by my cousin David Nolan called Amsterdam Man. This is dedicated to his brother, my cousin, Paul Nolan Miralles.
The show has gotten a brilliant reception in all of the venues that we have performed in so far and we have received standing ovations and multiple encores at the end of ever show!! Always a welcome reward! The crew, band and singers this year are all outstanding and a real to work with!!
All has gone really smoothly, well with the exception of our tour van running our of diesel after our show in Geel!!! Luckily we ran out just as we rolled in to a petrol station!! - Nothing short of a Druid miracle that we did not end up stranded!!
